The Rozia Foundation calls on the House of Representatives to draw attention to the Kurds in north-eastern Syria

Binnenhof in The Hague, seat of the House of Representatives — advocacy for Kurdish Christians by the Rozia Foundation

In March 2026, the House of Representatives held a round-table discussion on the situation of the Kurds in north-eastern Syria: the humanitarian crisis and human rights in the region. This was prompted by the fierce fighting in early 2026 between the Syrian government and the Kurds.

Our contribution

Ahead of this meeting, the Rozia Foundation submitted a position paper to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs. In it, we called for attention to be paid to the protection of civilians and religious minorities, including Kurdish Christians, and to the de-escalation of the violence.

For us, this is part of standing up for the Kurdish people, alongside practical emergency aid and spreading a message of hope. We will continue to draw attention to their situation, including in The Hague.
